چکیده

ZrO2 nanoparticles have been investigated in the photodegradation of formic acid under UV irradiation. photocatalysts were prepared using a ‘one-pot’ sol-gel method followed by drying supercritical conditions solvent and calcination at temperatures varying between 400 °C 800 °C. Samples characterized adsorption-desorption isotherms, XRD, Thermal analysis, Raman spectroscopy, HRTEM, DRS, PL XPS. The aerogel preparation allows creation intermediate band gap states making it active photoactivity samples follow order; ≥ > 700 500 600 agreement with their optical properties. lower value mid gap, higher photocatalytic activity. depends on nature phase (tetragonal or monoclinic), surface oxygen defects tendency to lattice distortion for treated high temperature. This study therefore shows first time that adequate oxide materials (here ZrO2) finely tuning intermediary sites through thermal post-treatments ZrO2, large material, able photocatalytically work

Surface chemistry of pure tetragonal ZrO2 and gas-phase dependence of the tetragonal-to-monoclinic ZrO2 transformation.

The surface chemical properties of undoped tetragonal ZrO2 and the gas-phase dependence of the tetragonal-to-monoclinic transformation are studied using a tetragonal ZrO2 polymorph synthesized via a sol-gel method from an alkoxide precursor. The obtained phase-pure tetragonal ZrO2 is defective and strongly hydroxylated with pronounced Lewis acidic and Brønsted basic surface sites. Combined in s...

Influence of crystal structure of nanosized ZrO2 on photocatalytic degradation of methyl orange

Nanosized ZrO2 powders with near pure monoclinic, tetragonal, and cubic structures synthesized by various methods were used as catalysts for photocatalytic degradation of methyl orange. The structural and textural properties of the samples were analyzed by X-ray diffraction, Raman spectroscopy, TEM, UV-vis, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and N2 adsorption measurements. The performance ...

Tetragonal to Monoclinic Transformation 3

We give an analysis of the stability and uniqueness of the simply laminated microstructure for all three tetragonal to monoclinic martensitic transformations. The energy density for tetragonal to monoclinic transformations has four rotationally invariant wells since the transformation has four variants. One of these tetragonal to monoclinic martensitic transformations corresponds to the shearin...
